How do I pay my invoice?

When your register your child, you can indicate if you want to authorise Wonderland for direct debit collection. If you don’t, we will charge a monthly fee to cover administrative expenses. The collection will always take place on or around the first day of each month. Manual transfers must be credited to our account within 14 days of the invoice date.

When do I receive my annual statement?

Once a year we will send you the ‘jaaropgave kinderopvang’ (annual statement regarding childcare). This document will be supplied only once, in the month of February. Keep it in a safe place. When you prepare your statement to the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, you need this document to specify the number of childcare hours that you have received.

How do I apply for a childcare benefit?

For detailed information on this subject, and for a link to the form with which you can apply for a childcare benefit, we refer to the page Childcare benefit of the Dutch Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.

To complete the form, use the information provided in our contract. You can consult the contract through our digital Parent Portal. In it you can find information you need to complete your application for a childcare benefit, e.g. the registration number of your childcare location (the LKR Number), the number of hours of childcare we provide and the hourly fee. The LKR Number is also mentioned on the page dedicated to your child’s day care location.

Do you need assistance to complete the application form? We ourselves do not provide this service, but the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration does. As a parent you can, by filling in and signing a form, request for assistance throughout the procedure. Please note that, after you have submitted this form, Wonderland will not receive any feedback about the results of this assistance.

Changes:

It is important to report changes in your personal situation as soon as possible to the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. The App Kinderopvangtoeslag (App Childcare Benefit) offers a quick and easy way to report changes. You can, however, not use the app to submit new applications.

Why do I have to submit my own and my partner’s BSN to Wonderland?

By law providers of childcare are required to ask parents to submit both their own and their child’s day of birth and BSN (Citizen Service Number). On the basis of the second paragraph of Article 1b of the Uitvoeringsbesluit AWIR, parents are obliged to provide their childcare provider with their BSN. The BSN is a unique identifying personal number. The Department of Allowances of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration uses these numbers to verify if the childcare data relate to the parent who’s data were submitted.

I have become unemployed. Must I now discontinue childcare?

Are you no longer working and does your child still go to day care? Then you are entitled to three more months of childcare benefit. Childcare benefits are managed by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. Inform the Tax and Customs Administration that you no longer work. They will then adjust the benefit to your new situation. On the website of the Tax and Customs Authority you can find how to do this.

How is my invoice calculated?

52 Weeks Packages

Parents who have selected a 52 Weeks Package, receive a monthly invoice specifying the number of childcare hours received per child. The number of hours childcare has been provided, may vary per location. You can find the exact amount on our website under ‘packages’ and on your contract. The number of hours purchased is the number of hours you need to report to the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration for your childcare benefit.

Example;

You have selected a 52 Weeks Package for 1 day childcare per week.

4 hours per day x 40 weeks = 160 hours a year (school weeks)

11 hours per day x 12 weeks = 132 hours a year (holiday weeks)

292 / 12 months = € 24,33 per day, per month

40 Weeks Packages

Parents who have selected a 40 Weeks Package also receive a monthly invoice. The amount of these invoices is always the same, even when a month includes one or more weeks of school holidays. This is because all the childcare costs and the hours of day care your child receives in the course of the entire year are added up together and then divided by twelve. Due to this arrangement, you do not have to report changes to the Tax and Customs Administration during the holidays.

Example;

You have selected a 40 Weeks Package for 1 day childcare per week.

4 hours per day x 40 weeks = 160 hours per year

160 / 12 months = € 13,33 per day, per month

Holiday Care

Our Holiday Care package is the only package we bill in the months when a holiday actually takes place. Parents receiving a childcare benefit from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, should be well aware of this. For, while we bill our day care in the actual month that holiday care is provided, the Tax and Customs Administration distributes the childcare benefit evenly over all the months of the year, including months without a holiday.

While the allowance provided by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration remains the same, the amount of our invoices will increase. If we, for example, provide holiday care on Mondays during the summer holidays, the amount on your invoices for, say, July and August will increase due to the fact that we may charge up to 6 Mondays of day care for this period.

Frequently asked questions

Registration, planning and placement

Below we answer questions many parents/caretakers have asked us about registration, planning, placement etc. Among them you may find the answer you are looking for. If your question remains unanswered, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Registration and placement

I want to register my child at Wonderland. How do I do that?

How very nice that you want to register your child at Wonderland! To do so, please complete the registration form on our website. Your registration is non-binding and free of charge. Do you already have an account? Then register a subsequent child through our digital Parent Portal. Just fill in the required information. We will then process your application.

What happens after I have registered my child?

As soon as we have processed your registration, we will send you a confirmation by email. Your child is recorded in our administration and placed on our enrolment list according to his or her date of registration.

Do you need day care on a short notice? As soon as there is a place available, a staff member of the Child Planning Department will contact you to talk about the possibilities for placement.

When do I hear if my child can be placed?

Five to six months prior to the desired starting date you will receive a placement proposal from a staff member of our Child Planning Department. Due to the huge demand for childcare, this proposal may not exactly match the exact wishes your specified at registration. In that case, a staff member will contact you to talk about our alternative proposal.

Is it possible to get day care for my child on a short notice?

That depends on a number of things. On the location you have selected, for example. On the days on which you would like your child to go to day care. On the maximum number of children allowed per group. And on legal regulations. Currently there is a great demand for childcare and all our locations are well attended. On various days many of our groups are full, and we have had to introduce waiting lists. When a group is full, we cannot place new children until other clients cancel and/or change their child’s placement.

On the days I desire childcare, there is no place available yet. What now?

In this case a staff member of our Child Planning Department will offer you an alternative placement proposal. Simultaneously we add your child’s name to the waiting list for day care on the desired day. As soon as a place becomes available, we will contact you. Of course you are always welcome to ask the Child Planning Department about the state of affairs. We prefer to receive such requests by email.

Can I express my preference for a certain group?

You can always indicate which group you prefer. When we prepare our placement proposal for your child, we will do all we can to meet your wishes. We can, however, not guarantee that they will all be met.

My child receives day care at the Wonderland childcare facility. Is he or she automatically registered for after school care?

No, your child will not automatically be registered for after school care. After all, we do not know which primary school your child goes to, nor do we know which after school facility you prefer. Around the time when your child turns three, an employee of your child’s childcare location will inform you that it is time to register your child at one of our locations for after school care. You can then register him or her through the digital Parent Portal (Aanvragen > Structurele wijziging) or by sending an email to our Child Planning Department.

I can’t register my child. Instead I receive the message that my email address is already in use. What now?

If the problem persists, please contact our Child Planning Department. Do you already have an account? Second or subsequent children can be registered through the digital Parent Portal.

Waiting Lists

display none
I already have a child in day care. Now I would like a brother/sister to get a place as well. Do they qualify for preferential placement?

When you have a child already actively receiving day care, priority criteria apply for the placement of a second or subsequent child. This second or subsequent child will, however, only qualify for priority placement, when they have been registered at least six months prior the desired starting date. Placement is only possible when there is a place available. A list of our criteria for preferential treatment is available here.

My child is on the waiting list. How long will it take for a place to become available?

How long your child has to wait for placement, is hard to tell in advance. In the first place because, according to the criteria we apply, other children may qualify for preferential placement. Like when the applicant has a brother/sister already actively receiving day care. Or when a child moves on from day care to after school care. In the second place it is hard to predict when we can offer your child a place, because we often have to wait until a place becomes available in a group matching your child’s age. And, finally, because every location has its busy days, notably Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you wish, our Child Planning Department can always prepare an alternative placement proposal for other days and/or locations.

Can I change my registration data?

To update or change your registration data, please send an email to our Child Planning Department. Don’t forget to mention your child’s full name and to pass on which data you want to change..

How do I apply for extra day care or swapping days?

You can post requests for additional day care or swapping days through the digital Parent Portal. One of the group’s pedagogical staff members will check if the requested days are available and inform you within a months notice.

You can only apply for swapping days when you have already canceled another day of day care through the Parent Portal. Days of non-attendance cannot be used to claim swapping days afterwards. Swapping is a service and can only be approved when there is a place available. The swapped day must be claimed within a set period of time, extending from one month before until two months after your child’s day of absence.

Can I cancel my registration?

When you are no longer looking for day care, please let us know as soon as possible. We will then remove your child’s registration and any related data from our administration. If you temporarily do not need childcare anymore, but may need it again in the future, please inform us as well. We will then place your child on a non active enrolment list. His or her registration date remains unchanged, but we will no longer offer you a placement proposal. Whenever you want to apply for childcare again, just let us know. We will then place your child on the active enrollment list again.

Can I cancel a placement I already accepted free of charge?

No, that is not possible. For any cancellation of a placement proposal you have already accepted, we charge an administration fee. The amount depends on the moment of cancellation. For full or partial cancellations up to 1 month before the starting date, we charge € 50. For full or partial cancellations less than 1 month before the starting date, a 1 month period of notice applies.

Can I temporarily cancel or suspend my child’s placement?

No, it is not possible to temporarily cancel or suspend a placement. Placements can only be discontinued entirely. Later on you can always register your child for day care again. In that case, please keep in mind that your child’s ranking on any waiting list will have passed on to another child. Once a placement has been cancelled, we cannot guarantee we may be able to offer a new placement.

How do I end my contract?

Please send us an email if you wish to end your contract. The term of notice is 1 month. You can end the contract any day of the month.
